In the past week, police made 13 motor vehicle stops, four resulting in verbal warnings and nine in written warnings or citations. Officers also performed one well-being check and responded to two false burglar alarms.
Tuesday, Feb. 10
At 1:11 p.m. a man came to the station seeking legal guidance from an officer. At 4:38 p.m. someone told an officer that, in a pending divorce case, their spouse was hacking into several of their online accounts; the officer explained the dispute was a civil issue.
Wednesday, Feb. 11
At 10:16 a.m. on Ayer Road a 37-year-old Lawrence man received a summons for driving without a license.
Thursday, Feb. 12
At 5:50 a.m. a 911 caller reported a crash on Route 2 eastbound but then canceled the report. At 11:56 a.m. there was a high-speed crash on Interstate 495 southbound; state police had jurisdiction. At 1:34 p.m. a caller reported suspicions about two men in bright vests walking in the St. John Lane neighborhood; an officer learned they were working for Mass Save in the area.
Friday, Feb. 13
Luckily, nothing significant to report.
Saturday, Feb. 14
At 8:48 a.m. a caller reported a team from D&D Power working on electric lines along Stow Road; however, the workers and vehicles were in a driveway, so no police safety detail was required. At 1:24 p.m. Ayer police asked for assistance at an address on Shaker Road but then canceled the request. At 4:11 p.m. a resident came to the police station to report a possible case of identity fraud.
Sunday, Feb. 15
Nothing significant to report.
Monday, Feb. 16
At 1:19 p.m. an East Bare Hill Road resident called for advice about obtaining a restraining order.
