The Ambulance Service responded to eight calls and transported six people to the hospital, one with Advanced Life Support services on board. The ambulance responded to three motor vehicle crashes. No one needed a lift assist.
Tuesday, Oct. 15
At 8:44 a.m. Engine 2 was called to a crash on Route 2 eastbound, but Littleton firefighters handled it. At 8:50 a.m. the Harvard crew was diverted to a car fire on Interstate 495 southbound, where they provided scene safety while a Boxborough crew got the fire under control. At 5:38 p.m. Engine 2 was called to Route 2, this time to a two-car crash in the westbound lane. The firefighters cleared debris and provided traffic control until the cars were removed.
Wednesday, Oct. 16
At 6:57 a.m. Engine 2 was called to a three-car crash on Route 2 eastbound, where the crew assisted the ambulance staff and cleared debris.
Thursday, Oct. 17
At 9:35 a.m. the duty officer and Engine 2 crew were called to the Bromfield School, where two people were trapped in an elevator. The crew reset the elevator controls and freed the occupants; the school was advised to have the elevator serviced.
Sunday, Oct. 20
At 4:28 p.m. a fire alarm was activated at a Madigan Lane home; no report was available on the cause.
Monday, Oct. 21
At 4:36 p.m. the duty officer detected a strong odor of smoke in the center of town. It was found to originate from a brush fire at the South Post in Devens, which was handled by the fire department there. At 9:40 p.m. there was still smoke in the area from that fire, and it set off an alarm at a house on Prospect Hill Road. The duty officer helped reset the alarm there.
