The Ambulance Service responded to nine calls and transported five people to the hospital, none with Advanced Life Support services on board. The ambulance responded to five motor vehicle crashes. No one required a lift assist.
Wednesday, Nov. 20
At 7:52 a.m. Engines 2 and 4, together with the ambulance, responded to the three-car collision on Route 2 eastbound. One person was taken to a hospital, and the crew of Engine 2 cleaned up spilled fluids and debris.
Thursday, Nov. 21
At 6 a.m. Engines 2 and 4 and the ambulance were again called to a Route 2 crash, this time a one-car rollover. Firefighters provided safety at the scene; one person refused ambulance transport.
Saturday, Nov. 23
At 1:45 a.m. the ambulance and Engines 2 and 4 went to a collision on Route 2 east. One car had hit a guardrail, but the driver did not call 911; instead he waited for a ride from a family member. While he was waiting, a box truck crashed into the car on the guardrail. At that point, emergency services were called and took two people to a hospital. The firefighters helped the EMTs and cleaned up the scene. At 5:52 a.m. Engines 2 and 4 and the ambulance were again called to Route 2, this time for a one-car crash in the westbound lane; no one required hospitalization, and the engine crews again helped to clean up the debris.
Sunday, Nov. 24
At 3:40 p.m. a 911 caller reported a car fire from a rollover crash on Interstate 495 southbound; Engine 2 assisted in extinguishing the fire.
