The cross-country and soccer teams wrapped up their seasons this past week.
The No. 9 seeded girls soccer team lost its quarterfinal match against No. 1 seed Douglas 4-1 in this year’s Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Division 5 soccer playoffs, ending a late-season winning streak and the team’s best playoff performance in three years.
The No. 3 seeded boys soccer players beat the No. 11 seed Pioneer Charter School of Science Panthers 4-1 at Ayer’s turf field Nov. 13, earning a Final Four trophy and banner. But the Trojans lost their semifinal match against perennial rival Sutton 3-1 Monday, Nov. 18.
Finally, boys and girls cross-country teams both qualified for MIAA Division 3 state finals at Devens Saturday, Nov. 16. The girls placed second and the boys sixth.
Boys cross-country (season 5-0)
- 11/16 MIAA Division 3 state championship. Boys placed sixth among 23 schools with a score of 221 points. Bromfield’s lead runner, sophomore Ben McWaters, was 19th with a time of 17 minutes, 14.86 seconds.

Girls cross-country (5-0)
- 11/16 MIAA Division 3 state championship. Girls placed second among 21 schools with a score of 133 points. Senior Evelyn Wool was second with a time of 18:55.57 followed by junior Rosie Bradley in fifth place with a time of 19:31.09.

Boys soccer (14-4-4)
- 11/13 MIAA Division 5 state tournament quarterfinals vs. Pioneer Charter School of Science, 4-1 win
- 11/18 MIAA Division 5 state tournament semifinals @Sutton, 3-1 loss.
