Boat storage lottery opens March 31
Harvard Park and Recreation reminds boat owners that the lottery for boat storage spaces (racks, moorings, and slips) at Bare Hill Pond will open March 31.
Volunteer opportunities
Each year in June the Select Board makes appointments to town boards, committees, and commissions. Volunteers serve on bodies as varied as the Agricultural Advisory Committee, the Fourth of July Committee, and the Planning Board; the full list of offices is at harvard-ma.gov/m/newsflash/home/detail/49. Hazardous waste collection
The Devens Regional Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center will accept hazardous waste on Wednesday, March 4, and Saturday, March 7, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 9 Cook Street (rear), Devens. Sign up for curbside compost pickup
The Harvard Climate Initiative Committee invites residents to preregister for a subscription to Black Earth for curbside food waste pickup. Black Earth accepts all food scraps and food-soiled paper products. The cost is $94.99 for curbside pickup every other week for six months. There is a one time cost of $39.50 for the bin and starter bags.

Register for spring youth sports

- Lacrosse. Girls pre-K through grade 6, with an in-town program for pre-K to kindergarten and a travel program for grades 1-6. New this year, boys learn-to-play program. For more information and to register, go to harvardlax.org.
- Bromfield Acton-Boxborough rowing. Competitive rowing team for grades 9-12; sculling team for grade 8; learn to row program for grades 6 and 7. No experience necessary, open to Bromfield students and Harvard residents attending the Parker School or Monty Tech. - Harvard Soccer Club. Registration is open for spring soccer, with multiple in-town and travel programs for grades pre-K to 12. Normal price registration continues through the end of February. Sign up at harvardsoccer.org.
Preschool lottery is open
The Harvard integrated preschool program is accepting applications through Feb. 25 for the lottery for the 2026-2027 school year. Children who live in Harvard or Devens and turn 3 years old on or before Aug. 31, 2026, are eligible to apply. Acceptance for enrollment depends on the availability of slots.
