In the past week, police made two motor vehicle stops, one resulting in a verbal warning and one in a written warning or citation. Officers also made three well-being checks and responded to one false burglar alarm.
Tuesday, Oct. 22
At 7:06 a.m. a walker came to the station to report finding a cellphone and a drone.
Wednesday, Oct. 23
At 6:01 a.m. a 911 caller reported a crash on Route 2 westbound; state police had jurisdiction. At 6:50 a.m. another crash was reported on Route 2 westbound; again the state police were called. At 10:25 a.m. a resident was notified by phone of a restraining order against him, which he said he would pick up when he returned from a trip. At 12:16 p.m. Harvard police assisted Boxborough officers with a complaint about a noisy gathering at a residence on Codman Hill Road.
Thursday, Oct. 24
At 9:04 a.m. a Depot Road resident called asking for help after catching a raccoon in a Havahart trap. The animal had gotten into the house through a dog door. The animal control officer was notified. At 4:07 p.m. a caller asked to speak with the animal control officer about a black Lab on Littleton Road.
Friday, Oct. 25
At 8:57 a.m. an officer arrested a 29-year-old man and a juvenile in connection with a scam. According to a Harvard Police Department Facebook post, the two offered to repair chimneys; they then demanded payment for work they did not finish, or they deliberately damaged the chimney. They were arrested and charged with larceny by false pretense and also with malicious property damage. They were later transported to court, one to Clinton and one to Worcester. At 5:50 p.m. state police asked Harvard officers to check on a person walking on Route 2. At 10:31 p.m. a caller told police a resident might need a court-ordered hospitalization for mental illness.
Saturday, Oct. 26
At 1:25 a.m. the man about whom the previous caller had spoken also called the police, demanding the return of some belongings. At 1:38 a.m. a woman reported threats and said she was bringing the belongings in question to the station. At 1:36 p.m. an Old Mill Road resident reported a missing yellow Lab, and the animal control officer was notified; the dog was found shortly thereafter. At 8:09 p.m. someone called 911, saying a car with its doors open and no plates was parked on Cruft Lane and might be abandoned; police told the vehicle’s owner to remove it.
Sunday, Oct. 27

Monday, Oct. 28
At 10:04 a.m. police called the Department of Public Works to remove a dead animal from Still River Road. At 3:32 p.m. an officer filed a report on a case of larceny, forgery, or fraud.
