The Ambulance Service responded to six calls and transported five patients to the hospital, two with Advanced Life Support services on board. The ambulance also responded to two motor vehicle collisions.
Tuesday, March 11
At 11:57 a.m. the Fire Department was called to deal with a half-acre brush fire behind a house on Myrick Lane, apparently started by embers from open burning. The forestry truck, Engine 4, and the tanker went to the scene. The fire extended into Ayer, so the Ayer Fire Department also responded.
Thursday, March 13
At 5:29 a.m. Engine 2 and the ambulance went to the two-car collision on Route 2 eastbound; the ambulance transported one person to a hospital, and firefighters remained on the scene until the cars were towed away.
Sunday, March 16
At 4:40 p.m. a smoke detector went off at a home on West Bare Hill Road. The duty officer found no smoke and advised the homeowner to clean the detector and put in new batteries.
Monday, March 17
At 4:55 a.m. Engine 2 and the ambulance were called to a one-car crash on Route 2 westbound. One person refused ambulance transport, and the engine crew cleared debris and waited for the car to be towed.
