Sonic Union outdoors at the library
Trustees of the Harvard Public Library will sponsor the band Sonic Union Tuesday, June 2, 6 to 7:45 p.m., at the library pavilion at 4 Pond Road. Bring lawn chairs, dinner, and friends for this local, high-energy rock band that covers a blend of classic and contemporary tunes. Registration is encouraged, and will permit notification if the event is postponed due to weather.

‘Emma’ at Cannon Theatre
The Cannon Theatre, 28 Andrews Parkway, Devens, will present a weekend of Jane Austen’s “Emma” Friday, May 29, 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, May 30, 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, May 31, 2 p.m. This popular and critically acclaimed adaptation by Paul Gordon is a musical retelling that keeps the language and spirit of the original text. Shred old documents
The Harvard branch of Rollstone Bank will provide shredding of unwanted documents Saturday, May 30, 9 a.m. to noon, at 283 Ayer Road. Bring old tax forms, bank statements, credit card bills, or any paperwork with sensitive, confidential information. Documents will be shredded securely on site. Free and open to the public.
Electronics recycling
Harvard Boy Scouts Troop 1 will receive electronics for recycling Saturday, May 30, 9 a.m. to noon, at the Bromfield School. Most small electronics items will be accepted, including laptops, monitors, game consoles, and printers. Small appliances such as grills, fans, and space heaters are also welcome. No fee, but cash donations to support Troop 1 are welcome.
Eco-friendly home tours
The Harvard Climate Initiative Committee will host eco-friendly home tours Saturday, May 30, 2 to 4 p.m. Visit four homes in Harvard to see heat pumps (ground and air source, ducted and minisplits), solar installations, electric lawn equipment, and more. ‘Underneath Immense Skies’
Fruitlands Museum, 102 Prospect Hill Road, will hold an opening for a new artist showcase “Underneath Immense Skies” Thursday, June 4, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Local artist Zack Faugno-Teig explores a connection to color and nature with abstracted scenery, overwhelming blue sky, and fields of greenery. Edible wild plants
The Goose and Hen farm will offer a class on finding, eating, and cooking with wild edibles Friday, June 5, 4 to 5:30 p.m., at a location within a 30-minute drive from Harvard. Bare Hill triathlon
The Lions Club Bare Hill sprint triathlon, duathlon, and aquabike races will take place Sunday, June 7, 8 a.m., starting and finishing at the library at 4 Pond Road.
- The sprint triathlon (individual and relay) consists of a 0.3-mile swim, 10.4-mile bike ride, and a 3.1-mile run.
- The duathlon is a 1.5-mile run, 10.4-mile bike ride, and a 3.1-mile run.
- The aquabike is a 0.3-mile swim and 10.4-mile bike ride.

Garden Club to donate planter
In recognition of its 100th anniversary in 2027, the Garden Club of Harvard will present to the town a granite planter Monday, June 8, 10:30 a.m., in front of Town Hall. The planter is installed at Town Hall’s former front entrance, and will be planted seasonally as part of the club’s civic beautification work. At the dedication, Garden Club President Bill Loehfelm will speak about the club’s history and its mission. Town officials and the public are invited to attend.
Printing, propaganda, and the American Revolution
The Harvard Press and trustees of the Harvard Public Library will present a program at the library Thursday, June 11, 6:30 p.m., looking at the role that journalism played in the events leading to the American Revolution. Newspapers and pamphlets were instrumental in inciting discord on both sides of the conflict, but how did printers get their information, and what meaning did their words and symbols hold? Women’s Business Network potluck
The Women’s Business Network will hold its annual potluck supper Thursday, June 11, 6:30 p.m., at the Virginia Thurston Healing Garden, 145 Bolton Road. Icon Museum Founder’s Day
On Friday, May 29, the Icon Museum and Study Center, 203 Union St., Clinton, and the Clinton Historical Society honor Gordon and Janet Lankton, founders of the museum and benefactors of Clinton.
