I’m running for reelection for my second term on the School Committee because my work is not yet completed. I am highly motivated and committed to continue to serve the Harvard school community. I have the dedication, experience, background, knowledge, relationships, and time that it takes to serve on the School Committee.
I have taken an active role over the course of my term. I have served on the policy and budget subcommittees, am a liaison to several town boards and committees, and have taken a leadership role as vice chair of the School Committee last year and the chair this year.
As a former teacher and a parent to four children in the Harvard Public Schools, I know the importance of collaboration and clear communication. I will continue to forge synergistic relationships with the community, students, leadership team, town boards and government, as well as my fellow School Committee members. In doing so, I will keep the best interests of all students as the priority in decision making.
The Harvard Public Schools have a new vision and strategic plan. I am looking forward to continuing to work with the School Committee and district leadership to support and move the district forward in attaining the goals set forth in the plan. I understand the constraints of the budget and will work to balance the needs of the district with the realities of the town resources with continued transparency and partnership.
Your vote for me is a vote for a candidate with experience, expertise, and passion who keenly understands the intricacies of the role, responsibilities, and purview of the School Committee as well as the limitations of its governance.
Thank you for considering my candidacy.
