Police Log: November 24 to December 1, 2025

From Nov. 24 to Dec. 1, police made 35 motor vehicle stops, seven resulting in verbal warnings and 28 in written warnings or citations. Officers also checked on one disabled vehicle and helped one person who was locked out of a vehicle.

Monday, Nov. 24
At 8:39 a.m. a caller reported that a logging company had left a truck at a worksite on Willard Lane, and the truck had been vandalized over the weekend. At 12:21 p.m. someone turned in a wallet found at school, and police notified the owner.

Tuesday, Nov. 25
Nothing significant to report.

Wednesday, Nov. 26
At 7:17 a.m. police received a complaint about illegal hunting in a field along Ayer Road. An officer located the hunters and informed them of the law. At 4:43 p.m. there was a one-car crash on the Harvard-Bolton town line; one person was injured and the vehicle was towed. At 4:58 p.m. Ayer police requested assistance in dealing with a homeless man.

Thursday, Nov. 27
At 1:56 p.m. an officer attempted to serve a restraining order at a Still River Road residence, but the subject of the order was not there.

Friday, Nov. 28
At 7:26 a.m. someone came to the station to turn in a hypodermic needle they had found. At 11:05 a.m. police received reports of a traffic jam on Ayer Road, where people who were trying to buy Christmas trees at Doe Orchards had caused a backup; an officer was sent to control the traffic. At 12:45 p.m. a burglar alarm went off at a Lancaster County Road business. Police found the front door unlocked but all interior doors secure, and the key holder was notified to lock the front door. At 1:27 p.m. a 911 caller from Brown Road reported a dispute with their landlord; police advised the caller it was a civil issue. At 2:03 p.m. an officer went to a Park Lane address to serve a restraining order but learned the subject of the order now lived in another town; police there were informed. At 6:04 p.m. Lancaster police asked Harvard for use of a drone to locate someone who had run away from a residential school. At 8:24 p.m. police notified the Department of Public Works that roads were becoming slick and needed sanding.

Saturday, Nov. 29
At 9:59 p.m. a Murray Lane resident reported a car had parked at the end of that road and shut off its lights. An officer told the driver of the car to move on. At 11:35 p.m. a 911 caller reported an unknown person on the property at a Tahanto Trail home. An officer found that the person had come to repossess a car but had not informed the local police, as is usual in those circumstances; the officer stayed to keep the peace.

Sunday, Nov. 30
At 5:10 p.m. a Lovers Lane resident called to report a possible case of identity theft.

Monday, Dec. 1
At 10:27 a.m. a caller reported a car had struck a telephone pole near the intersection of Tahanto Trail and Bowers Road. Police, firefighters, and the ambulance crew responded. One person refused ambulance transport, and the car was towed. National Grid was notified about damage to the pole. At 12:27 p.m. an East Bare Hill Road resident called 911 to report a family member was yelling and out of control; an officer went to the home, and the family member calmed down. At 1:52 p.m. a South Shaker Road resident told police a man and a woman were taking photographs of the caller’s house, saying they were interested in photography; an officer checked and found no reason for concern.
