In the past week, police made 10 motor vehicle stops, six resulting in verbal warnings, one in a written warning or citation, and two in civil citations that carry a fine; one vehicle was towed because it was unregistered. Officers also made a well-being check, dealt with two disabled vehicles, and responded to two false burglar alarms.
Tuesday, Nov. 12
At 12:23 p.m. police received word that a large tree had fallen on Simon Atherton Row; the Department of Public Works removed it. At 3:10 p.m. someone on Craggs Road called 911 after noticing a neighbor’s front door was standing open; with backup from Boxborough police, a Harvard officer checked the building, found nothing amiss, and secured the door.
Wednesday, Nov. 13
At 10:07 p.m. a 911 caller reported a car had crashed into a utility pole on Stow Road. The driver, a 38-year-old Harvard woman, received a summons for driving without a license. The car was towed, and National Grid secured the pole.
Thursday, Nov. 14
At 11:25 a.m. someone on Bolton Road called to say a friend’s basement door was open, but no one was home; police checked the house and found no intruder. At 11:55 a.m. police were called to a two-car collision on Mass. Ave. No one was injured. At 6:08 p.m. a 911 caller reported a driver tailgating them and flashing high beams; the caller found a place to turn off to let the other car by. Police searched the area but did not locate the aggressive driver. At 9:08 p.m. Ayer police asked for assistance in responding to a caller who said several masked people were trying to break into the house.

Saturday, Nov. 16
At 1:04 a.m. a 911 caller reported a disturbance to Bolton police, and shortly thereafter a caller reported a car peeling out near the intersection of Slough Road and Mass. Ave. Police searched the area but did not locate the car. The two incidents were related, police say. At 1:22 p.m. someone came to the police station to turn in a wallet found on Depot Road. At 1:51 p.m. another person turned in a driver’s license found on Ayer Road. At 2:48 p.m. a caller reported an injured deer. At 6:43 p.m. a 911 caller said their car had been sideswiped on Ayer Road by someone who drove off. The caller was following the other car, and police advised the caller to stop at the Alltown store. Based on information from the caller, a 36-year-old Ayer woman received a summons for leaving the scene of a collision that had damaged property.

Monday, Nov. 18
At 2:39 p.m. an officer filed a report on sexual offenses. At 3:19 p.m. a resident came to the station to report a case of identity theft.
