Police Log: March 11 to 17, 2025

In the past week, police made 10 motor vehicle stops, seven resulting in verbal warnings and three in written warnings or citations. There was one false burglar alarm.

Tuesday, March 11
At 8:16 a.m. a caller reported some dogs loose near the intersection of Poor Farm, Pinnacle, and Littleton roads; the animal control officer was informed.

Wednesday, March 12
At 10 a.m. someone reported a dead raccoon on Pattee Road. At 10:13 a.m. a caller said a catch basin grate on Ayer Road was partly caved in. Police placed cones around the grate and notified the Department of Public Works; DPW workers repaired it the following day. At 11:38 a.m. a landlord called after receiving a threatening phone call from a tenant. At 1:41 p.m. a caller reported a person openly carrying a firearm on Still River Road; the person was gone when police arrived. At 10:07 p.m. police received a call about suspicious activity on Elm Street; no other details were available.

Thursday, March 13
At 5:29 a.m. there was a collision on Route 2 eastbound; state police had jurisdiction. At 11:15 p.m. an officer checked on a car parked at the DPW lot; the driver left the lot.

Friday, March 14
At 1:33 a.m. police performed a mental health evaluation, and the person was taken to a hospital.

Saturday, March 15
At 12:45 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle on Ayer Road and found the person was driving with an expired license; the officer issued a summons. At 8:52 p.m. a caller complained that a black Jeep had been tailgating her car on Ayer Road, had passed her, and was now tailgating the car ahead of her; police searched the area but did not locate the Jeep.

Sunday, March 16
At 12:51 a.m. a Brown Road resident reported hearing a loud bang and seeing a bright light nearby, but police found no evidence of anything amiss in the area. At 6:24 p.m. a 911 caller said a car was weaving along Ayer Road; an officer located the car and spoke with the driver. At 7:27 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Still River and Prospect Hill roads; a 24-year-old Leominster resident received a summons for unlicensed operation.
