Between July 1 and July 8, police made 12 motor vehicle stops, 10 resulting in verbal warnings, one in a written warning or citation, and one with no reported outcome. Officers also checked on a disabled motor vehicle, helped someone locked out of a car, made a well-being check, and responded to a false burglar alarm.
Monday, July 1
At 9:19 a.m. someone called with concerns about an older person’s driving ability. At 10:58 a.m. an officer checked on damage from a tree that fell near the Bare Hill Pond parking lot.
Tuesday, July 2
At 3:11 p.m. a 911 caller reported a car crash on Stow Road; one person refused ambulance transport, and the car was towed.
Wednesday, July 3
At 10:45 a.m. someone requested police help in transporting a person for medical evaluation. At 4:35 p.m. there was a crash on Route 2 westbound; state police had jurisdiction.
Thursday, July 4
At 12:11 a.m. a Littleton County Road resident called to say a noisy party nearby was keeping them awake; an officer spoke to the party host, who agreed to move the gathering indoors. At 10:09 a.m. a crash took place on Interstate 495 northbound; state police had jurisdiction. At 2:43 p.m. someone on West Bare Hill Road called, asking to speak with the animal control officer about an injured hawk. At 9:05 p.m. a Turner Lane resident reported a drone was shining a spotlight into their home. A little later, a caller from Clinton Shore Drive also complained about the drone. (See report in the Fire Log) At 9:31 p.m. someone reported banging noises outside the Old Littleton Road home where she was housesitting; she requested that an officer check the area.
Friday, July 5
At 5:42 p.m. a caller reported a loose dog on Old Shirley Road; the animal control officer was notified. At 11:43 p.m. there was a crash on Interstate 495 southbound; the state police had jurisdiction.
Saturday, July 6
At 5:18 a.m. the Stoneham police reported that a tracking device in a stolen vehicle showed the vehicle was on Harvard Road in Lancaster; state police and the Department of Defense were notified. At 2:21 p.m. a Littleton County Road resident called after catching a bat in the house. The resident wanted the bat tested for disease because of dogs in the home, and the matter was referred to the animal control officer. At 3:45 p.m. someone reported suspicious activity on Finn Road. The caller said two men carrying rifles had gotten out of a car and were walking toward the Delaney Wildlife Management Area. The incident is still under investigation.
Sunday, July 7

Monday, July 8
At 8:16 a.m. an Old Littleton Road resident called to say there was a dead animal—probably a dog—in her yard. The animal control officer was notified. At 9:05 a.m. a 911 caller reported a dog wandering near Bolton Road; the animal control officer was again alerted. At 3:36 p.m. there was a minor vehicle crash on Ayer Road; no one was injured. At 9:13 p.m. an officer reported trying to pull over a motorbike rider on Slough Road, but the rider refused to comply and left the area.
