In the past week, police made 26 motor vehicle stops, two resulting in verbal warnings and 23 in written warnings or citations. Officers also checked on five disabled vehicles, helped one person locked out of a vehicle, and performed one well-being check.
Tuesday, Feb. 3
At 12:06 p.m. someone reported the theft of a package on Old Littleton Road. At 4:55 p.m. a 40-year-old Westford man received a summons for driving with a suspended registration and driving an unregistered, uninsured vehicle; the car was towed. At 6:45 p.m. Ayer police informed Harvard police about a resident who had been driving erratically; an officer spoke with the person at their home. At 7:50 p.m. an officer on Green Hill Road heard someone shouting for help. The officer found the person had fallen on ice and needed help getting up, but refused medical care.
Wednesday, Feb. 4
At 10:12 a.m. a 911 caller said there was a low-hanging wire near the intersection of Old Shirley and Depot roads; National Grid was informed. At 1:47 p.m. an Ayer Road business owner reported an attempted phishing scam. Later the owner learned someone had tried to open an account with the business’ information, but no money was lost. At 5:12 p.m. there was a two-car collision on Route 2 westbound; state police had jurisdiction.
Thursday, Feb. 5
At 11:30 a.m. an officer helped a Littleton County Road resident who was having phone problems. At 2:35 p.m. a caller told police the license plates had been stolen from the caller’s car sometime during the past few weeks while the car was parked near Still River Road. At 7:06 p.m. an East Bare Hill Road resident called 911, saying their adult son was out of control, doing damage in the house, and his medication was not working; a Harvard officer and another from Boxborough restored peace.
Friday, Feb. 6
At 3:22 a.m. a 911 caller reported suspicious activity on Glenview Drive, saying two cars were parked on the street and two men with flashlights were prowling near a neighbor’s house; the men turned out to be a Spectrum repair crew working on a pole.
Saturday, Feb. 7
At 12:53 a.m. there was a two-car collision on Route 2 westbound; state police had jurisdiction. At 6:25 a.m. there was another crash on Route 2 westbound; again state police were in charge. At 2:14 p.m. the Department of Public Works reported someone with a snowblower on Ayer Road was blowing snow into the roadway as cars were passing. At 10:15 p.m. there was a two-car crash on Interstate 495 southbound; state police asked for ambulance services from Harvard and Bolton.
Sunday, Feb. 8
At 6:36 a.m. the Maynard Police Department asked Harvard to send a female officer to help with a woman in custody there. At 10:52 a.m. a 911 caller asked for an officer to come as backup to Codman Hill Road in Boxborough, where two women were arguing about a collision that had taken place elsewhere; the officer advised both women to exchange the necessary papers and information to settle the matter.
Monday, Feb. 9
At 5:23 a.m. the Ashburnham police asked a Harvard officer to make contact with a Candleberry Lane resident about a vehicle.
