In the past week, police made 39 motor vehicle stops, nine resulting in verbal warnings, 29 in written warnings or citations, and one in a civil citation that carries a fine. Officers also checked on two disabled vehicles, issued or renewed one firearm permit, and responded to two false burglar alarms.
Tuesday, Dec. 2
At 8:04 a.m. there was a one-car crash on Old Schoolhouse Road; no one was injured, but the car required a tow. It was the first of many calls resulting from the snowstorm. At 10:26 p.m. there was a two-car collision on Shaker Road; again, fortunately, no one was injured. At 11:03 a.m. state police, Harvard firefighters, and the ambulance were called to a crash on Route 2 westbound in which at least one person was hurt. At noon, there was a single-car crash on Littleton County Road. No one was injured, but the car was towed. At 5:22 p.m. a town truck was in a minor crash on Ayer Road; no one was injured. At 7:07 p.m. a caller reported a tree leaning heavily on a power line along Stow Road. National Grid and the Department of Public Works were called. Another caller reported the same problem at 7:37 p.m. At 7:44 p.m. a 911 caller told police a large branch was entangled in wires on Poor Farm Road. Another 911 call came in at 9:08 p.m. from a Westcott Road resident who said a falling branch had pulled down the electric line to her house.
Wednesday, Dec. 3
At 6:25 a.m. an officer observed a hazard on Littleton County Road and alerted the DPW, who removed the hazard a few minutes later.

Friday, Dec. 5
At 5:21 p.m. a 911 caller reported hitting a deer on Bolton Road. The caller said the deer was injured and needed to be euthanized, but when police arrived it had run off. At 6:53 p.m. a Murray Lane resident called to say a large SUV had gone to the end of the road and parked. The caller was concerned that the occupants might be poachers. The car was gone when police arrived. At 11:06 p.m. state police called to say there had been a road rage incident on Route 2, and the people involved had gotten off that road and were now arguing in a parking lot on Ayer Road. Harvard police went to assist, but the state police had the situation in hand.
Saturday, Dec. 6
At 1:56 a.m. a 911 caller reported a suspected break-in taking place on Still River Road. The caller said the garage door was open at the house next door, and several men were standing around with shovels. Harvard police, with Bolton police as backup, went to the scene but found nothing amiss; the group was just shoveling snow. At 7:37 a.m. a caller reported a car had hit a deer on Prospect Hill Road. The animal was dead, and the DPW removed the carcass. At 3:08 p.m. state police asked the animal control officer to help catch a German shepherd dog that was loose on Route 2 and had run into the woods toward Devens. At 3:31 p.m. a Littleton County Road resident told police that a 39-year-old man, who was a family member, had stolen two kayaks from them. The caller wanted to press charges for larceny, and police issued a summons.
Sunday, Dec. 7
At 7:42 a.m. Harvard officers provided backup to Bolton police, who arrested a 33-year-old Saugus man and a 33-year-old Revere woman for possessing illegal drugs. At 11:11 a.m. a Littleton County Road resident told police someone had taken the can of sand she used to sand her driveway; she said her window screens had also been pushed up as if someone had tried to break in. Police found the can of sand at the end of the driveway; there was no sign of an attempted break-in.
