Police Log: August 20 to 26, 2024

In the past week, police made six motor vehicle stops, all resulting in verbal warnings, and issued one written warning or citation for a parking violation. Officers also checked on two disabled motor vehicles and responded to one false burglar alarm.

Tuesday, Aug. 20
At 3:11 p.m. a caller reported a trash truck had run over a mailbox on Old Littleton Road.

Wednesday, Aug. 21
At 7:17 a.m. Harvard police assisted Boxborough officers with a disturbance at a Mass. Ave. gas station. Boxborough police charged a 62-year-old Boxborough man with several offenses including disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. At 11:16 a.m. someone on Stow Road complained about a person going door to door; the person had left the area when an officer arrived. At 5:48 p.m. Harvard again assisted Boxborough, this time in responding to a commercial burglar alarm on Codman Hill Road. At 6:21 p.m. Harvard officers helped when a 911 caller reported a missing person in Boxborough; the person was found safe.

Thursday, Aug. 22
At 8:45 a.m. police asked the Department of Public Works to stop some work near the intersection of Ayer and Old Shirley roads, because the work was causing a traffic hazard. At 11:08 a.m. an officer filed a report on a sex offense involving a juvenile. At 4:19 p.m. a sick-looking coyote was reported in the Littleton County Road area; the animal was gone when police arrived, but the animal control officer was alerted. At 8:45 p.m. police learned someone had tried to cash a forged check in town, but it did not go through.

Friday, Aug. 23
At 10:29 a.m. a Littleton Road resident reported their dog was missing; the animal control officer was notified. At 4:43 p.m. a caller reported an unruly group of kids on Still River Depot Road; an officer spoke with them, and they dispersed. At 7:27 p.m. Harvard police helped settle a disturbance at the Boxborough Regency Hotel.

Saturday, Aug. 24
At 5:56 p.m. police were called for a mental health evaluation on Shaker Road. At 6:47 p.m. a caller reported a blue car racing up and down Madigan Lane; police searched the area, but the car was gone.

Sunday, Aug. 25
At 10:47 a.m. a Pinnacle Road resident reported that a dog was living in her yard; the animal control officer was informed. At 4:18 p.m. a 911 caller reported a disturbance at the Dunkin’ Donuts on Mass. Ave. in Boxborough; peace was restored. At 6:44 p.m. a Willow Road resident reported a loud noise nearby. At 9:42 p.m. someone on Woodside Road complained about a loud group of kids playing basketball; an officer told the group to quiet down. At 11:38 p.m. the Woodside resident again phoned police about noise, but an officer who searched the area found the kids were now indoors.

Monday, Aug. 26
At 6:24 a.m. a resident complained about noise from a construction crew in the area; police spoke with the company about its early start. At 10:34 a.m. someone on Westcott Road called police about an unknown car in their driveway; it was a National Grid vehicle shutting off service. At 7:12 p.m. someone from St. Anne’s House on Still River Road reported two people walking on land belonging to the group; the walkers left when asked.
