WHAT:
The Virginia Thurston Healing Garden Cancer Support Center will present a free CEU program for oncology social workers and nurses on Sunday, February 10th, 2019, from 9:30-11:30 am. Professionals are invited to a viewing and discussion of the documentary End Game, the 2018 film following a group of visionary medical practitioners who work with terminally ill patients and seek to change our approach to life and death. A post-film discussion will be led by Jerry Soucy, RN, Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse (CHPN), and Brianne Carter, MTS, LICSW, OSW-C, Healing Garden Co-Director of Integrative Care. Two hours of free Social Work and Nurse CEUs available.
WHO:
The Virginia Thurston Healing Garden Cancer Support Center is the premiere provider of integrative oncology care in Massachusetts, located on 8 acres of serene woodlands in Harvard, MA. Offering support groups, expressive and integrative therapies, and individual counseling services to optimize the quality of life for all those who are affected by cancer – men, women, and their caregivers – regardless of cancer type, prognosis, or financial ability to pay for services. The CEU program is presented in partnership with Good Shepherd Institute, an education program offered through Good Shepherd Community Care of Newton, MA, a community-based, non-sectarian, hospice care agency.
