They don’t get bylines, but Harvard Press copy editors and proofreaders are an underacknowledged reason for our paper’s success, making sure the work of our reporters and contributors is accurate, complete, fair, and typo-free. Our future as an independent paper depends on them.
We’re looking for one or two understudies to learn the Press way of copyediting and proofing, to substitute when regular staff is absent, and to perhaps join the Press as permanent members of our editorial crew at some future time.
Previous copy editing or proofreading experience is preferred, though not required, as is knowledge of Associated Press style. These are part-time positions with flexible hours. For further information, please contact the editor, John Osborn, at editor@harvardpress.net.
