In the past week, the ambulance responded to 12 calls and transported nine patients to the hospital, three with out-of-town ALS paramedics on board. The ambulance was called to three motor vehicle collisions and provided two life assists.
Tuesday, Jan. 27
At 8:45 a.m. an Elm Street resident called about an odor in the house. A meter reading showed very low levels of carbon monoxide, and the homeowner was advised to call the HVAC provider for service.
Wednesday, Jan. 28
At 1:37 p.m. firefighters were called to a field by Prospect Hill Road, where a horse had fallen in the snow and was unable to get up. They shoveled some snow on the downhill side of the horse and, with some pushing and pulling, got it back on its feet. At 3:08 p.m. firefighters went to a three-car crash on Ayer Road, where they cleaned up spilled fluids and debris. At 4:21 p.m. they were again called to a crash, this time on Route 2 westbound, and again cleaned up fluids and debris.
Friday, Jan. 30
At 9:45 a.m. Littleton firefighters responded to a building fire on Whitcomb Avenue, and Harvard firefighters covered the Littleton station until the fire was out.
Saturday, Jan. 31
At 8:55 a.m. a carbon monoxide alarm went off at a home on Baldwin Court, but a meter check showed nothing. The homeowner was advised to replace the alarm. At noon, Engine 2 and the tower responded to a two-car collision on Still River Road, where crews cleaned up debris and fluids. At 4:51 p.m. a fire alarm sounded at a Poor Farm Road house; no report was yet available.
