Fire and Ambulance Log: February 3 to 9, 2026

In the past week, the ambulance responded to 14 calls and transported seven patients to the hospital, two with out-of-town ALS paramedics on board. The ambulance was called to five motor vehicle collisions and provided one lift assist.

Wednesday, Feb. 4
At 3:18 p.m. the tower truck went to Lancaster to provide mutual aid at a building fire; the crew remained on duty until 7 p.m.

Saturday, Feb. 7
At 12:53 a.m. Engine 2 was called to a two-car collision on Route 2 westbound, but no services were needed. At 10:15 p.m. firefighters were called to a two-car crash on Interstate 495 southbound, but the call was canceled while they were en route.

Monday, Feb. 9
At 1:45 p.m. Engine 2 and the fire chief responded to a 911 call from St. John Lane about smoke coming from a hot tub. An electrical wire was arcing, so firefighters shut off the power and confirmed nothing else was burning. The electrical inspector was called to check the wiring.

The police and fire logs are written by a Press reporter based on dispatch logs and interviews with police and fire staff. Decisions to publish or withhold the names of people arrested will be based on our need to balance the privacy of individuals with our responsibility to report news of significance.
