The Ambulance Service responded to seven calls and transported five patients to the hospital, three with Advanced Life Support services on board. The ambulance responded to one motor vehicle collision and provided two lift assists.
Tuesday, April 23
At 8:45 a.m. a fire alarm went off at a home on Old Mill Road; the duty officer found the device needed a new battery.
Wednesday, April 24
At 8:38 a.m. a 911 call took two forestry trucks and the tanker to Woodside Road, where a landscape contractor was violating several burning regulations. It was too early in the day to start burning, and the logs were larger than permitted, among other violations. The fire was extinguished.
Thursday, April 25
At 2:04 p.m. a 911 caller said wind was causing a permitted fire near the intersection of Bowers Road and Tahanto Trail to spread. The homeowner had the fire largely out when the fire chief and the forestry truck crew arrived; they praised the owner’s decision to call them at the first sign of trouble.
Friday, April 26
At 6:28 p.m. the forestry truck crew put out an unpermitted, after-hours fire on Littleton County Road.
Saturday, April 27
At 10:41 a.m. the Wachusett fire tower reported a plume of smoke near the intersection of Ayer and Poor Farm roads; the owner had a permit for the fire, and nothing was amiss. At 1:57 p.m. the Harvard tanker was called to Lancaster to help put out a fire on North Main Street there.
Sunday, April 28
At 4:14 p.m. a 911 call took the forestry truck to Old Littleton Road, where someone had set the deer carcass on fire; the crew extinguished the fire.
Monday, April 29
At 2:05 p.m. someone on Mill Road called with concerns about a permitted fire that the caller feared might spread; the duty officer checked the fire and found it was under control.
