Having won half their games this season, both the boys and girls basketball teams qualified for this year’s MIAA Division 4 basketball state championships even though they weren’t among the top 32. Brackets were announced Feb. 21, with tournament play scheduled to begin this week.
Meanwhile, six Bromfield/North Middlesex skiers qualified for the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Alpine Ski Championship. The event was postponed until Wednesday, Feb. 25, and moved from Berkshire East to Wachusett Mountain due to this week’s powerful nor’easter which disrupted travel across the state.

- 2/21 MIAA Meet of Champions. Senior Rosie Bradley finished 10th among 24 Massachusetts elite runners in the 2-mile race with a time of 11 minutes, 15.27 seconds. Junior Emily Flagg of Whitinsville Christian won with a time of 10:36.22

- 2/21 MIAA Meet of Champions. The boys 4x800-meter relay team of Harrison Binnick, Kai Kemeza, Micah Wiebe, and Liam Kemeza finished 20th among the state’s best teams with a time of 8:31.65. Brookline’s team won the race with a time of 7:59.99.

- 2/25 MIAA Alpine Skiing Championship. Postponed a day and moved to Wachusett Mountain due to this week’s nor’easter. Races began at 9:30 a.m. Sophomore Lilyana DeDiego, senior Audrey Slavin, and eighth-grader Callan Slavin qualified . Watch for results in the March 6 edition of the Press.

- 2/24 MIAA Alpine Skiing Championship. Sophomore Jack DeDiego, senior Cole Maddalone, and junior Cole Janda qualified. Watch for results in the March 6 edition of the Press.
