I was very pleasantly surprised when, at 11 p.m. on Jan. 29, a DPW backhoe went down Old Shirley Road, scraped the snow from the sides, and widened the road by a good 4 feet on each side. I was even more pleasantly surprised when 20 minutes later a truck with a plow came down the road and cleared the ridge of snow from each of my and my neighbors’ driveways.
Thanks to DPW staff who worked through the storm and nights last week for the attention to detail and clearing the roads.
