Townwide distribution of a 32-page paper is a big deal for a little weekly like the Harvard Press. It simply wouldn’t be possible without the support of our advertisers.
Subscribers are the lifeblood of local papers like ours, especially our sustaining subscribers, whose support is the difference between breaking even and going out of business.
But it may come as a surprise to learn that 65% of this paper’s revenue comes from our advertisers. We could not exist without them. At a time when advertising in local weeklies has plummeted nationwide, Press advertisers have stuck with the paper year after year. We are blessed to have their support and so are Press readers.
As you look through the pages of this week’s issue, pause for a moment to take in the ads that have made it possible. Like the Press, the businesses are local and deserve our support. And if an ad moves you to check a Press advertiser’s product or service, let them know you learned of it on these pages.
