In the past week, police made 45 motor vehicle stops, 31 resulting in verbal warnings and 14 in written warnings or citations. Officers also checked on two disabled vehicles and made three well-being checks.
Tuesday, May 26
At 4:10 p.m. a 911 caller reported their van had been struck by another vehicle on Ayer Road, and the other vehicle had left the scene without stopping. At 8:13 p.m. police transported a person to the Worcester County Jail in West Boylston. At 11:34 p.m. a resident who has a business in Boxborough told police that someone had left an Apple AirTag in one of his vehicles; Boxborough police were notified, too.
Wednesday, May 27
At 10:29 a.m. someone reported a crash on Poor Farm Road. A driver had fallen asleep at the wheel; the car hit a propane truck and then went off the road. No one was injured.
Thursday, May 28
At 3:31 p.m. a Brown Road resident called 911 to say she was away from home and her son was at the house alone; he had just called her, saying a gray truck had pulled into the driveway. When police checked, they found the truck belonged to a friend of the boy’s sister. At 6:14 p.m. a Bolton Road resident called with suspicions about a man who had come to their door trying to sell them solar panels.
Friday, May 29
At 8:58 a.m. an Ayer Road resident called police to report someone had dumped pieces of metal and other trash in his driveway. At 11:56 a.m. a hospital called, asking for help in reaching the son of a woman who had been hospitalized.
Saturday, May 30
At 6:46 a.m. a 911 caller reported a crash on Route 2 westbound; state police had jurisdiction. At 7:42 a.m. someone called about a tree branch down on Mass. Ave., and an officer removed it. At 8:10 a.m. a similar report came in from West Bare Hill Road, and again an officer removed the hazard. At 10:27 a.m. a small tree fell on Woodside Road, and the Department of Public Works was notified.
Sunday, May 31
At 4:23 p.m. police told National Grid about a downed wire and tree branch on Tahanto Trail. At 4:42 p.m. a caller reported a fallen branch on Old Mill Road. An officer moved it off the road and asked the DPW to take it away.
Monday, June 1
At 7:31 a.m. a caller reported yet another downed wire, this time near the intersection of Whitman and Pond roads. Police found it was fiber optic wire, not an electric line, and removed it. At 2:36 p.m. Littleton police asked Harvard officers to tell a resident that his wife had been involved in an accident. At 4:24 p.m. a caller asked for police help with a Facebook Marketplace transaction; the caller at first wanted an escort to the site of the transaction but later said they would call police if there were problems at the meeting. At 4:57 p.m. someone asked for help getting a disabled vehicle towed from Oak Hill Road. At 8:31 p.m. on Ayer Road a 16-year-old driver received a summons for a lights violation, driving an unregistered vehicle, and driving with a suspended license. The car was towed.
