Police Log: March 10 to March 16, 2026

In the past week, police made 81 motor vehicle stops, 25 resulting in verbal warnings, 53 in written warnings or citations, and two in criminal citations.

Tuesday, March 10
At 12:54 p.m. on Ayer Road a 48-year-old Ayer woman received a summons for driving with a suspended license and having no inspection sticker on her car. At 4:27 p.m. a 911 caller reported a fallen tree across West Bare Hill Road, and the Department of Public Works was notified; National Grid was also notified about possible damage to a nearby electric line.

Wednesday, March 11
At 1:09 p.m. on Ayer Road a 31-year-old Lowell woman received a summons for driving with a suspended license.

Thursday, March 12
At 8:15 a.m. a caller told police that workers with a large crane were taking down a tree near the intersection of Codman Hill and Stow roads. The caller was concerned the tree was the historic “Boundary Oak” that has marked the border between Harvard and Boxborough, perhaps since 1794. However, the tree being cut was not the Boundary Oak, and a police detail was already on site with the crane for traffic safety. At 9:44 a.m. an officer also provided a safety detail for DPW workers filling potholes on the Ayer Road bridge over Route 2.

Friday, March 13
At 5:04 a.m. a 911 caller reported a disabled motor vehicle on Route 2 eastbound; the matter was referred to the state police. At 6:26 a.m. someone called 911 about an erratic driver heading onto Route 2; again state police were notified.

Saturday, March 14
At 10:24 a.m. an officer made a well-being check on someone in a parked car by Mass. Ave. and found the person was just napping. At 2:49 p.m. an officer helped a person who was locked out of a car on Myrick Lane. At 8:10 p.m. a resident came to the station saying he had seen two youths on Still River Road near some signs that had been knocked over; he suspected vandalism, but police concluded his suspicions were unfounded.

Sunday, March 15
At 9:31 a.m. an Ann Lees Road resident who is getting divorced complained their spouse was threatening to destroy their social life. Police spoke with both parties. At 7:49 p.m. a Blanchard Road resident reported a Venmo scam related to the sale of a bicycle.

Monday, March 16
At 11:58 a.m. an Ayer Road business manager reported a car had been parked on his property for a week. Police found the car had been delivered by an automobile auction firm, and there was a miscommunication with the person who was supposed to pick it up. At 4:17 p.m. someone came to the station to report a case of fraud.
