Police Log: June 23 to June 28, 2026

In the past week, police made 52 motor vehicle stops, 36 resulting in verbal warnings and 16 in written warnings or citations. Officers also checked on three disabled vehicles and issued or renewed one firearm permit.

Tuesday, June 23
Nothing significant to report.

Wednesday, June 24
At 9:17 a.m. police noted a number of vehicles belonging to a construction company that were parked near the intersection of Still River and West Bare Hill roads. An officer asked the drivers to move the vehicles to a safer location. At 5:08 p.m. a disabled motor vehicle on Still River Road required a tow.

Thursday, June 25
At 12:17 a.m. a Depot Road resident called 911, saying they had heard a loud noise outside the window, followed by footsteps downstairs. Police searched the area but found nothing amiss. At 8:57 a.m., near the intersection of Mass. Ave. and Slough Road, an officer encountered a car with a flat tire and helped the driver change the tire.

Friday, June 26
At 9:49 a.m. someone notified police they would be going door to door in the Pond Road area. At 1:32 p.m. a Cleaves Hill Road resident called police, saying someone had made a mess of their mailbox. Police found sawdust and organic material in the box and concluded that perhaps an animal had nested there. At 5:09 p.m. Clinton police asked for a Harvard officer to contact an East Bare Hill Road resident who had been involved in a hit-and-run incident in Clinton.

Saturday, June 27
At 12:38 p.m. Acton police asked a Harvard officer to speak with a Withington Lane resident about a hit-and-run incident in Acton. At 9:58 p.m. a caller reported a stop sign had been knocked down at the intersection of Mass. Ave. and Slough Road. The Department of Public Works was notified to repair it.

Sunday, June 28
At 3:52 p.m. a caller complained about five or six cars parked on Trail Ridge Way, a private road. Police found the cars were not obstructing the roadway and so did not need to be moved. At 5:47 p.m. a 911 caller told police a car had hit a utility pole on Old Littleton Road. No one was injured, but the car required a tow and National Grid was notified to repair the pole.

Monday,  June 29
At 5:12 p.m. someone reported a large tree that appeared ready to fall on the road or on wires near the intersection of Slough and Woodchuck Hill roads. An officer called the DPW to deal with the tree, which posed a safety hazard.
