Police Log: June 16 to June 21, 2026

In the past week, police made 44 motor vehicle stops, 32 resulting in verbal warnings and 11 in written warnings or citations. One vehicle was towed. Officers also checked on two disabled vehicles and helped one person locked out of a vehicle.

Tuesday, June 16
At 1:41 a.m. two Ayer police officers asked for a Harvard officer to accompany them when they spoke with a Myrick Lane resident. At 9:26 a.m. police received an automatic message from an iPhone about a car accident on Madigan Lane; but the problem was with the phone, not a car. At 9:53 a.m. on Old Shirley Road a 29-year-old Harvard resident received a summons for driving an uninsured car with a suspended registration; the car was towed, and the driver walked home. At 6:15 p.m. someone came to the station to report a lawnmower had been stolen from the Willard Farm over the weekend; police are investigating.

Wednesday, June 17
At 9:47 a.m. a caller reported metal construction debris on Old Littleton Road, but it had been cleaned up when police checked the area. At 12:06 p.m. an officer tried to serve a summons to appear in court at a Depot Road address, but the person was not home. At 5:30 p.m. an Ann Lees Road resident called, saying her husband was supposed to have been served with a restraining order. As the husband was then on his way to the house, an officer met him, served the order, and escorted him while he retrieved his belongings. At 8:46 p.m. an officer again tried to serve a summons at the Depot Road address, and again the subject of the summons was not home. At 10:22 p.m. a Shaker Road resident called police, saying an unfamiliar black SUV had pulled into her driveway and stayed there for a while. The car was gone when police arrived.

Thursday, June 18
At 10:01 a.m. a caller told police she had been walking on Westcott Road when a car passed her going much too fast. She had motioned to the driver to slow down, and she said the driver then threatened to hit her next time. At 1:23 p.m. an officer successfully served the summons at the Depot Road residence, after the two previous efforts failed. At 5:40 p.m. a 911 caller reported a tree branch and wires down on Oak Hill Road, and National Grid was notified. At 6:55 p.m. a caller said he was using a chain saw to clear away a large, fallen branch on Ann Lees Road.

Friday, June 19
At 12:26 a.m. a power outage was reported on Littleton County Road. National Grid was informed and said the power would be back on by 2:30 a.m. At 12:44 a.m. a 911 caller said a branch had fallen on a power line on Littleton County Road, and National Grid was again notified. At 5:59 a.m. someone told police a large tree had fallen on power lines on Under Pin Hill Road, near the intersection with Still River Road. At 9:41 a.m. an officer spoke with the Westcott Road resident who had reportedly threatened a pedestrian the day before.

Saturday, June 20
At 8:45 a.m. a 911 caller reported a branch on a low-hanging wire on Oak Hill Road; National Grid was informed. At 12:09 p.m. there was a crash on Interstate 495 northbound; state police had jurisdiction. At 2:03 p.m. a tree branch and wires were reported down on Craggs Road, and National Grid was informed. At 5:59 p.m. someone turned in a cellphone they had found. At 6:02 p.m. a 30-year-old Brockton man was arrested on Ayer Road. He was charged with eight offenses including driving an unregistered and uninsured car, driving with a suspended license, and giving false identification to police. He was taken to the police station and was later released on bail.

Sunday, June 21
At 8:34 a.m. a Depot Road resident was told their lawn clippings in the road were creating a hazard; the resident agreed to clean them up. At 8:22 p.m. an officer saw a disabled motor vehicle on Ayer Road. The owner was waiting for a tow. A few minutes later, however, the officer gave the driver a ride to get some gas at a nearby station.

Monday, June 22
At 2:12 a.m. a caller asked for a well-being check on a person who had previously made suicidal statements. After a number of calls and attempts to locate the individual, police determined the person was in a western Massachusetts town; police there were asked to check on their well-being. At 8:57 a.m. a caller reported some black plastic trash bags had been illegally dumped on East Bare Hill Road. An officer located the bags, which were covered with leaf litter, indicating they had been there for a while. The Department of Public Works was notified to pick them up. At 4:08 p.m. someone came to the station to turn in some bullets they had found. At 4:18 p.m. there was a two-car collision at the intersection of West Bare Hill and Still River roads; no one was injured.
