Police Log: April 21 to 27, 2026

In the past week, police made 62 motor vehicle stops, 29 resulting in verbal warnings and 29 in written warnings or citations. Officers also checked on a disabled vehicle, made two well-being checks, and responded to two false burglar alarms.

Tuesday, April 21
At 1:29 a.m. Bolton police asked Harvard for backup as they responded to a burglar alarm indicating a basement door was open at a house on Drumlin Hill Road in Bolton. The officers found the building was secure.

Wednesday, April 22
At 2:45 p.m. a Woodside Road resident called with concerns about suspicious activity on her property several days earlier, when some people had left litter there; she asked to speak with an officer about the incident.

Thursday, April 23
At 12:05 p.m. a caller reported a fallen tree branch near the intersection of Littleton and Shaker roads; police notified the Department of Public Works to remove the hazard. At 6:40 p.m. someone called 911 to report two cars—a white BMW and a silver Porsche—speeding and weaving erratically on Ayer Road; the vehicles were gone when police arrived. At 6:49 p.m. a caller told police a wire was down on Tahanto Trail, and National Grid was notified. At 8:16 p.m. an officer on Ayer Road checked on the well-being of a woman who was dealing with an upset child. At 9:02 p.m. a Bolton Road resident thought they heard firecrackers somewhere up the road, but actually the noise was coming from military drills at Devens.

Friday, April 24
At 8:42 a.m. there was a crash on Route 2 eastbound; state police had jurisdiction. At 10:09 a.m. someone came to the station to report threats her son had been receiving online.

Saturday, April 25
At 11:10 p.m. a Babbitt Lane resident called 911, saying a group of young people had set off fireworks, thrown them on the resident’s property, and then fled—some on foot and some in a car.

Sunday, April 26
At 11:35 a.m. a woman came to the police station to ask about gaining access to common space she had shared with her husband before they filed for divorce; an officer explained it was a civil matter and she would need to get court papers for access.

Monday, April 27
At 9:08 a.m. on Ayer Road a 33-year-old Ayer woman received a summons for driving an uninsured car with a suspended registration. At 9:25 a.m. an officer initiated an investigation of larceny or fraud. At 2:42 p.m. someone came to the station to report a case of fraud.
