Fire and Ambulance Log: March 24 to 30, 2026

In the past week, the ambulance responded to seven calls and transported six patients to the hospital, four with out-of-town ALS Paramedical services on board. The ambulance responded to one motor vehicle collision.

Friday, March 27
At 10:22 a.m. Engine 2 and the tower truck went to a Stow Road home in response to a carbon monoxide alarm. The alarm was malfunctioning, and the homeowner was advised to replace it.

Saturday, March 28
At 1:30 p.m. a 911 caller reported an out-of-control fire along Bolton Road. Engine 2, the forestry truck, and the tanker all went to the scene. Firefighters found someone was burning leaves there, which is not allowed, and they put out the fire. At 7:13 p.m. Engine 2 responded to an alarm from a building on Mass. Ave. The alarm had been set off accidentally by cooking.

Sunday, March 29
At 11 a.m. Engine 4 was called to Ayer Road, where a resident was burning leaves. Firefighters explained the regulations and told him to put out the fire, as he had a water source at hand.

Monday, March 30
At 1:32 p.m. firefighters were alerted that the leaf fire from the day before on Ayer Road had reignited. The forestry truck extinguished it. At 2:53 p.m. people working in the basement at an Ayer Road house accidentally set off an alarm. At 7:40 p.m. a Harvard firefighter who is part of the District 8 Technical Rescue Team helped rescue an injured hiker on Mount Watatic.
