In the past week, the ambulance responded to three calls and transported two patients to the hospital. No ALS services were required. The ambulance was called to one motor vehicle collision.
Tuesday, Feb. 17
At 11:35 a.m. a carbon monoxide detector went off at a Mass. Ave. building, and Engine 2 responded. A car had been left running in the garage, so firefighters opened the garage door to ventilate the space. No carbon monoxide was detected in the house. At 12:15 p.m. and again at 1:11 p.m., Engine 2 was called to a business on Ayer Road when people working on the HVAC system there accidentally set off the alarms.
Wednesday, Feb. 18
At 12:25 p.m. firefighters were called to a crash on Interstate 495 southbound, but the call was canceled.
Thursday, Feb. 19
At 6:50 p.m. the crew of Engine 4 went to Littleton to cover the station on Foster Road as mutual aid during a fire.
Friday, Feb. 20
At 7:50 p.m. the duty officer helped a person who was locked out to get into their home on Littleton Road.
Saturday, Feb. 21
At 8:59 a.m. a caller reported the smell of propane in a barn on Still River Road, and Engine 2 and the tower truck responded. No gas was found, but firefighters shut off the propane tanks, vented the building, and advised the owner to call the propane service.
Sunday, Feb. 22
At 10:27 p.m. a Warren Avenue homeowner called 911 because a smoke alarm was sounding. The caller had already reset the alarm when the duty officer arrived, and there was no sign of smoke. The alarm was near its expiration date, and the homeowner was advised to replace it.
