Longtime Harvard resident, EMT, cyclist, and sailor

Edward Thurlow Barron, born in Muskegon, Michigan, and formerly of Harvard, died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024, at the age of 84.

After serving in the U.S. Navy, Ed spent the majority of his career at Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC). In his retirement, Ed volunteered with the Harvard Ambulance Service as an EMT and instructor. He enjoyed riding his bicycle and was an avid sailor.

Ed is survived by his sisters, Wendy Ohst and Bonnie Humphrey; his children, Ed Barron, Nicole Robie, and Sarah Barron; and his grandchildren, Ted, Katie, Thomas, James, and Emma.

Donations in his memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
