Sports Roundup: October 18, 2024

The boys varsity golf team has ended its 2024 season after failing to make it to the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association sectionals, but competition continues elsewhere as temperatures drop and the days grow shorter. See below for the complete rundown.

The boys and girls cross-country teams dominated Tyngsborough in their final league meets of the year last week. The boys are undefeated in the Midland-Wachusett C League for a third straight year—that’s 15 victories in a row. For the girls it was their fifth. Both teams have a week free of competition as they prepare for the Mid-Wach C championships on Oct. 26.

In boys soccer the team’s third place standing in the Mid-Wach C League belies its strengths. The boys have the strongest in the league and are outscored only by Tyngsborough, whom the team tied last week. Ranked third among the 86 teams in MIAA Division 5, the team will be a contender in this fall’s championships.
