Fire and Ambulance Log: December 9 to 15, 2025

The ambulance responded to 16 calls and transported nine patients to the hospital, three with Harvard ALS-Advanced personnel on board and three with out-of-town ALS-Paramedics on board. The ambulance was called to six motor vehicle collisions and provided one lift assist.

Tuesday, Dec. 9
At 3:25 p.m. Engine 4 went to Stow to cover the fire station there while Stow firefighters assisted at a fire in Maynard.

Wednesday, Dec. 10
At 1:01 a.m. Engine 2 and the tower truck responded to a smoke alarm at a building on Still River Road. The smoke was from an overheated motor in the heating system, so firefighters shut off the unit and ventilated the building.

Thursday, Dec. 11
At 1:18 a.m. a carbon monoxide alarm went off in an Ayer Road building. The duty officer found the alarm was defective and advised the owner to replace it. At 8:45 a.m. Engine 2 and the ambulance were called to the Dunkin’ parking lot for the vehicle that had been in a crash on Route 2; Engine 2 stayed until the tow truck arrived. At 1:52 p.m. Engine 2 and the tower truck responded to an alarm on Mass. Ave. Firefighters found the alarm had been set off by dust from some drywall work there.

Sunday, Dec. 14
Between 9:25 a.m. and 10:33 a.m., firefighters were called to three car crashes—on Woodchuck Hill Road, Littleton Road, and Route 2 eastbound. At 5:36 p.m. an Ayer Road resident reported a sparking space heater. Engine 2 and the tower truck went to the home. The crews found a problem in the electric junction box and told the owner to have it serviced.

Monday, Dec. 15
At 3:06 p.m. firefighters were called to Stow for mutual aid, but the call was canceled. At 5:20 p.m. a fire alarm was reported going off at an Ayer Road building. The duty officer found the alarm had a low battery.

The police and fire logs are written by a Press reporter based on dispatch logs and interviews with police and fire staff.
