Press release submitted by the Virginia Thurston Healing Garden Cancer Support Center
The Virginia Thurston Healing Garden Cancer Support Center is pleased to announce the election of Cynthia Burghard of Littleton to its Board of Trustees. Cynthia will serve on the Strategic Planning Committee. She has been a professional market researcher for nearly 30 years exclusively in the healthcare technology industry. Cynthia has been involved with the Healing Garden since 2002 when she became a client and organized the original "Healing Gardeners" group that maintained and enhanced the gardens around the cottage. While gardening remains a passion, Cynthia is excited to bring her market research skills to the organization. Board Chair, David Martin remarked, “Cynthia has been a steadfast supporter of the Healing Garden for many years. I’m delighted that she is joining our Board so that we can benefit even more from her outstanding commitment, hard work, and professional skills.”
The Healing Garden is a local non-profit organization dedicated to providing education and supportive, integrative therapeutic services, programs, and classes for all those affected by cancer. Clients and caregivers come from over 165 towns and cities in the Commonwealth. Upon her election, Cynthia shared the following: "I am honored to now serve on the Board of Trustees of The Virginia Thurston Healing Garden Cancer Support Center. As a former client since 2002, I know the crucial role The Healing Garden plays in supporting families through their cancer journey. I am blessed to have the opportunity to give back to the Garden and look forward to being a part of the next chapter of the organization.”
