Keelaghan and Woodhead to perform at Volunteers Hall
Harvard Friends of the Arts will present James Keelaghan and David Woodhead in concert Friday, Feb. 20, 7:30 p.m., in Volunteers Hall at the library at 4 Pond Road. Keelaghan is one of Canada’s most respected folk musicians, a winner of multiple Juno Awards, and brings warmth, wit, and emotional depth to every performance. New moon hike
Join the Harvard Conservation Trust on a Nordic-themed guided hike to Barba’s Point under the new moon Saturday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m. Come with friends and family, and gather around a firepit to warm up and enjoy hot beverages and s’mores. Bring walking sticks or poles, a headlight or flashlight, and traction cleats for snow and ice. ‘Enslavement in the Puritan Village’
Local historian Jane Sciacca will give a talk on the history of enslavement in the colonial north Saturday, Feb. 21, 2 to 3 p.m., at Fruitlands Museum, 102 Prospect Hill Road. Using church records, bills of sale, and military documents, Sciacca’s research sheds light on the pervasive impact of slavery in colonial towns such as Sudbury, Concord, and Framingham. Puppet theater at Devens
Drawbridge Puppet Theater will perform “The Princess and the Pea” and “The Fisherman and His Wife” Saturday, Feb. 21, 6 to 7 p.m., at Dragonfly Wellness Center, 176 Jackson Road, Devens. With original scripts and songs, Drawbridge Theater has provided quality family entertainment with humor and music for 35 years. $7 per person, free for ages 2 and under. Learn about the Healing Garden
The Garden Club of Harvard will hold a joint meeting with the Harvard Woman’s Club Monday, Feb. 23, 9:30 a.m., at the Harvard Senior Center, 16 Lancaster County Road, for a presentation on the Virginia Thurston Healing Garden. This is an opportunity to learn about this important cancer resource here in our own community, from its inception to its current offerings, with time for questions.
HES game night
On Thursday, Feb. 26, 5 to 7 p.m., the Harvard Schools PTO invites all Hildreth Elementary School students and their families to an evening of fun and games in the HES cafeteria. Grab your favorite game and challenge your friends or one of the HES principals. Pizza and baked goods will be for sale. All proceeds benefit the PTO.
Coffee and play for parents and young children
The Harvard Unitarian Universalist Church, 9 Ayer Road, will host coffee and conversation Saturday, Feb. 28, 9 to 11 a.m. Parents and caregivers can enjoy a warm drink, snack, and friendly conversation while young children play in a comfortable, safe space. No sign-up required; all are welcome.
Learn to make sourdough
The Goose and Hen farm will offer a class on sourdough bread baking Saturday, Feb. 28, 2 to 3:30 p.m., at 85 Old Littleton Road. Make European-style sourdough bread with simple ingredients and no kneading. Participants will leave with an in-progress loaf plus additional sourdough starter. $35 per person. The Harvard Educators Association will hold its 56th annual staff-senior competition with a volleyball game Friday, Feb. 27, 7 p.m., in the Bromfield School gym. Winter Fest
The Harvard Lions Club and Carlson Orchards will hold Winter Fest 2026 Sunday, March 1, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., at 115 Oak Hill Road. The event includes people’s choice chili and mac and cheese contests, skillet toss, human dog sled pull, knitted hat contest, ice suncatcher contest, winterland photo exhibit, a fairy door field, apple cannons, scavenger hunt, and wassailing the orchard. Contests and activities are open to all; admission is free. Hard cider and flatbread pizza will be for sale.

Ice skating at Devens
Ice skating is open to the public, daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., on a temporary outdoor rink at 100 Sherman Ave., Devens. Parking is available in the lot at the community center. The Queen’s Gala
The Harvard and Bolton Girl Scouts invite girls and their families to a festive evening Saturday, Feb. 28, 6 to 8 p.m., at the Florence Sawyer School, 100 Mechanic St., Bolton.
