Virginia Thurston Healing Garden Cancer Support Center names Bernadette Yao to Board of Trustees

The Virginia Thurston Healing Garden Cancer Support Center is very pleased to announce the appointment of Bernadette Yao of Lincoln to its Board of Trustees. Bernadette will serve on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, and will Chair the Nominating Committee. Bernadette is a certified Brennan Healing Science Practitioner, Reiki Practitioner, Energy Sound Healer, and musician. Since 2013, Bernadette has offered Mind Body Sound Therapy workshops at the Healing Garden and has had a private practice in holistic health for 20 years. Bernadette studied music production at Berklee College of Music and has produced three albums of healing music. Before working as a professional healer, Bernadette worked in the TV industry in production, administration, and fundraising. Her TV career began as a cast member on the Emmy-Award winning PBS children’s show, ZOOM, and later was involved in other productions at WGBH.   Board Chair, David Martin remarked, “We look forward to benefiting from Bernadette’s expertise and her dedication to community service for years to come.”

The Healing Garden is a local non-profit organization dedicated to providing education and supportive, integrative therapeutic services, programs, and classes for all those affected by cancer. Clients and caregivers come from over 165 of the towns and cities in the Commonwealth. 

 “I am delighted to join the Board of Trustees and look forward to further assist the organization’s mission for diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as serving on the nominating committee,” said Bernadette.
