The Groton-Dunstable Crusaders (14–4) beat the Bromfield girls lacrosse (11–7) team Saturday afternoon, 15–4, at Shepherds Hills Regional High School, ending the Trojans' quest for a Central/West district title. Eighth grader Izzy Planchet scored two goals in the opening minutes of the first half, while senior Kaeli Armstrong and junior Chandler Farley scored one each in the second, Farley scoring hers with less than a minute remaining in the game.
The playoff matched an older, experienced Gronton-Dunstable team against a Bromfield squad full of younger but talented underclassmen. “No one believed you would make it to this game,” coach David Planchet told the players in their final huddle. “You have nothing to be ashamed of.”
