A caller on Old Meadow Lane reported at 8:09 a.m. that there was an unfamiliar silver car parked in a driveway across the street. The vehicle was gone when police arrived. A fire truck was dispatched to Cameron Road at 9:04 p.m. after an alarm was received, but the call was cancelled when the alarm company called to say the alarm had malfunctioned.
Wednesday, June 9
A Woodside Road resident called at 12:13 a.m. to report hearing a loud noise outside, followed by a car leaving the area. Police checked the area, but nothing was found. An officer on patrol noticed an open door at the Oak Ridge Observatory at 12:59 a.m. and notified the caretaker about it. At 3:52 a.m. someone called on the 911 line looking for directions to Interstate 495. The directions were provided, but the caller was advised not to use the 911 line for that in the future. At 6:35 a.m. a caller reported a two-car accident on the eastbound side of Route 2. State police were notified. At 7:04 a.m. the ambulance transported a woman to Nashoba Valley Medical Center from a West Bare Hill Road residence. At 1:31 p.m. an East Bare Hill Road resident reported that her home had been burglarized during the hour she was out of the house. A large amount of jewelry was taken. Police have suspects in the case, which remains under investigation. At 2:54 p.m. an officer on patrol noticed five girls having a picnic on the other side of the wall at the Prospect Hill overlook and advised them that they were trespassing.
Thursday, June 10
The ambulance took a woman to Leominster Hospital from a Peninsula Road residence at 4:39 a.m. At 7:29 a.m. a caller reported that a car had gone off the road and hit a tree on Prospect Hill Road. Police and the ambulance responded to the scene. The driver refused medical treatment; the car was towed. Police issued a citation to the driver for speeding and failure to keep right. At 11:58 a.m. a Slough Road resident called to report that his home had been broken into while he was in the shower. He reported hearing a noise while he was in the shower, and when he went downstairs to investigate, he found two men in the home. They fled, but the homeowner got a description of their vehicle and a plate number. Police have suspects in the case, which remains under investigation.
Friday, June 11
At 9:08 a.m. an officer spoke with an Ayer Road resident about using more care when exiting her long driveway. State police requested the Harvard ambulance at the scene of an accident on Route 2. One woman was taken to Leominster Hospital.
Saturday, June 12
At 6:15 a.m. a Woodchuck Hill Road resident called to report that an unfamiliar car had pulled into the driveway across the street. After the driver got out, walked around, and then returned to the car, the car drove away and then came back down the road. Police checked the area, but found nothing. A woman stopped at the station at 1:20 p.m. to speak with an officer about buying a handgun for her daughter. At 6:37 p.m. police investigated a single-car accident on Ayer Road, where a car struck a telephone pole. The car was towed. There were no injuries reported or citations issued. At 7:19 p.m. police were asked to check on a large party at Bolton Road and Abbott Lane. A caller on Brown Road reported at 10:42 p.m. that there was a car speeding on that road. The car was not located.
Sunday, June 13
A caller reported a utility pole on fire in front of the elementary school. National Grid was notified. The ambulance took a woman to Nashoba Valley Medical Center from a Granite View Lane residence at 10:19 a.m. A caller reported at 4:32 p.m. that there were cars parked on both sides of a section of Warren Ave., making it difficult to pass. Police spoke with the homeowner who was hosting a party and asked to have some of the vehicles moved. At 7:56 p.m. a caller reported a car being driven erratically, possibly by a drunk driver, on Stow Road, headed for Stow. Police notified Stow police to watch for the vehicle. At 11:14 p.m. police received a report of a fight in progress at Fruitlands, where a wedding reception was being held. The parties were gone when police arrived.
Monday, June 14
At 1:48 a.m. Boxborough police requested the assistance of a Harvard officer in responding to a domestic incident that led to an arrest in Boxborough. Stow police called at 7:42 p.m. asking Harvard police to check the Finn Road area for a bicyclist who was lost. Police located the biker and gave her directions to find her way home.
