At 2:02 a.m. the ambulance transported a woman to Nashoba Valley Medical Center from an Ayer Road residence. At 2:55 a.m. a Stow Road resident called to say there was a bat in her house. An officer spoke to the woman’s husband, who said he had the situation under control. A Prospect Hill Road resident called at 11:57 a.m. to complain that some construction workers at a nearby residence were playing the radio too loudly. An officer asked the workers to turn down the volume. At 2:48 p.m. someone stopped at the station to speak with an officer about a possible telephone scam. An officer on patrol at 9:25 p.m. noticed a tractor-trailer truck parked in the field on Ayer Road, across from the post office, and asked the driver to move along.
Wednesday, June 2
An officer on patrol stopped a car on Ayer Road for a traffic violation at 9:29 a.m. and issued a summons to the driver for operating after revocation of insurance. The car was towed. A caller on Stow Road reported that there was a turtle in the road at 10:52 a.m. The animal was gone when police arrived. At 6:05 p.m. Boxborough police requested assistance at a motor vehicle stop at the off-ramp on Interstate 495.
Thursday, June 3
An officer on patrol at 2:32 a.m. noticed a heavily damaged street sign at Mass. Ave. and Woodchuck Hill Road that appeared to have been hit by a truck, and recorded the incident as a hit-and-run. At 6:43 a.m. an officer on patrol stopped a car on Ayer Road for a traffic violation and issued a summons to the driver for operating after revocation of his driver’s license. The car was towed. The Ayer ambulance transported a man to Nashoba Valley Medical Center from a South Shaker Road residence at 4:27 p.m., after Harvard was unable to get an ambulance crew.
Friday, June 4
At 2:11 p.m. a business owner on Ayer Road asked police to remove a customer from his premises. The customer was gone when police arrived. The Boxborough ambulance transported a child to the hospital from the town beach at 3:25 p.m., after Harvard was unable to raise an ambulance crew.
Saturday, June 5
At 6:28 a.m. a caller reported that a car had gone off the road into a swamp at Stow and Codman Hill roads. Police arrived on the scene and arrested Harvard resident Kevin Niemira, 22, for operating under the influence, operating to endanger, speeding, and not staying within marked lanes. He was later released on $240 bail. At 11:15 a.m. a caller reported that a goat was loose on Madigan Lane. Police left a phone message with the owner. A fire officer responded to an alarm from a Westcott Road residence and determined that the smoke detector on the premises was faulty. A Woodside Road resident called at 1:29 p.m. to report that a census taker had been to the house asking questions, even though the resident had already submitted the census form. The person was gone when police arrived to investigate. The ambulance took a man to Nashoba Valley Medical Center from a Clinton Shore Drive residence at 9:49 p.m.
Sunday, June 6
At 7:10 a.m. a Tahanto Trail resident reported that a car had gone off the road in the area, although there was no one in it. Police responded to the scene and discovered that the car had hit and snapped a utility pole, and landed about 270 feet off the road. They located the driver, a 22-year-old Harvard resident, and had the ambulance transport him to Nashoba Valley Medical Center for treatment of an injury to his ankle. The driver will be issued a summons for leaving the scene of an accident, operating with negligence, speeding, and failing to keep right.
Monday, June 7
The ambulance took a woman to Nashoba Valley Medical Center from a Woodside Road residence at 9:44 a.m. At 9:23 p.m. a caller reported that there was a car parked near the railroad tracks on Still River Depot Road. The car was gone when police arrived to investigate.
