I am writing to endorse Deb Thomson for the Board of Selectman. I have known Deb for more than 10 years, ever since she and her husband Bres moved into Harvard. I’ll vote for Deb because of her unique combination of experiences, skills, and integrity. And because she’s just such a decent person. She has spent much of her life devoted to causes including advocating for the elderly and disabled (among others), helping them with a strong voice on important issues—so much so that she received a Leadership Award from the Massachusetts Councils on Aging.
Deb has been a wonderful neighbor over the years—taking care of our animals in an emergency when we couldn’t be home; inviting us to warm up in her house (with a generator) during winter power outages; and in countless other small ways. She has also worked collaboratively for years on the Harvard Community Preservation Committee, so she is well versed in local as well as state-level issues. We will be fortunate to have Deb take on this challenging role on the BOS to serve our town. Please join me in voting for her on Nov. 4.
