Appalled by downplaying of swastikas and slurs

December 15, 2016

I am writing in response to a remark made by Rob Jones, the Harvard schools’ diversity consultant (See “Schools continue to wrestle with intolerance,” Dec. 9). I was appalled, horrified, and insulted by Jones’ statement that the severity of slurs and swastikas on the rock were “about a three.” As the daughter of two Holocaust survivors, it sure was a “10” to me. I would suggest that if it is not already a part of the school trip to Washington, D.C., the Holocaust Museum be added to the itinerary.
