I am writing to express my gratitude to the Harvard Press, and particularly to Carlene Phillips, for the beautifully written article that so thoughtfully captured my experience as a Jewish person, particularly during the Christmas season (Dec. 23).
It meant a great deal to me that the Press wanted to run such a story. I shared the article with friends and family, near and far, and it generated a tremendously positive response. And to our community here in Harvard, I want to emphasize the following: From the moment we arrived in this town, our Jewish family has felt welcomed and supported. We have felt this way even more so of late. To quote Leonard Cohen, “There is a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in.”
There is abundant light in Harvard, especially when times get dark. We feel truly blessed to live here.
