In the past week, police made 13 motor vehicle stops, six resulting in verbal warnings, six in written warnings or citations, and one with services rendered.
Tuesday, Aug. 19
At 1:21 a.m. an officer reported a possible incident of harassment. No further information was available.
Wednesday, Aug. 20
At 10:27 a.m. a caller was worried their trailer might have hit something on the road, but there were no reports of anything being damaged. At 11:24 a.m. a driver complained that a tractor-trailer truck was tailgating and flashing its lights; the truck was no longer in the area when police arrived. At 4:25 p.m. a caller reported a loose Lab near Still River Road.
Thursday, Aug. 21
At 12:24 p.m. an officer noted that the stop sign at the intersection of West Bare Hill and Still River roads was covered in vines; the DPW was asked to clear it. At 3:42 p.m. an officer spoke with a group of people riding motorized bikes and scooters on Still River Road, reminding them to follow the rules of the road.
Friday, Aug. 22
At 1:46 a.m. a 911 caller reported a car on Ayer Road had hit a pole and then rolled over several times; the car required a tow. At 7:51 a.m. another 911 caller reported a low-hanging wire near the intersection of Depot and Pattee roads. At 10:34 a.m. a loose dog was reported on Simon Atherton Row. At 6:01 p.m. someone called 911 to report another loose dog, this time on Mass. Ave.
Saturday, Aug. 23
Nothing significant to report.
Sunday, Aug. 24
At 1:55 p.m. someone accidentally set off an alarm at a school building. At 5:46 p.m. there was a complaint about a vehicle weaving across lanes on Ayer Road; police located the vehicle, and it was towed.
Monday, Aug 25
At 7:51 a.m. a 911 caller reported a crash on Route 2 eastbound; state police had jurisdiction. Between 12:50 p.m. and 1:57 p.m. callers on Mettacomet Path, Finn Road, and Westcott Road all reported loose dogs (or perhaps the same dog) in the area. At 7:30 p.m. a 911 caller reported a car had hit a mailbox and then driven off. A 28-year-old Brockton man was arrested for leaving the scene of property damage, driving without a license, and violating marked lanes.
