In the past week, police made eight motor vehicle stops, six resulting in verbal warnings, two in written warnings or citations. Services were also rendered for three disabled vehicles and one lockout.
Tuesday, Aug. 26
At 11:05 a.m. an officer assisted a constable and the animal control officer with serving papers to a Mass. Ave. resident regarding a dog declared to be dangerous by the Select Board at its Aug. 20 meeting. At 12:33 p.m. a Lancaster County Road resident reported that a neighbor’s cat was causing damage to her property. Three hours later, a resident brought a dog that was wandering the streets to the police station. The animal control officer was notified and she took custody of the dog.
Wednesday, Aug. 27
At 6:57 a.m. a caller reported striking a deer on Littleton Road. The deer ran off into the woods before an officer arrived. At 9:28 a.m. a resident came to the station to report money stolen. An officer filed a larceny report; the case is under investigation. A 911 caller reported a crash with injury on Interstate 495 northbound at 4:33 p.m. State police had jurisdiction.

Friday, Aug. 29
At 4:44 p.m. an Old Littleton Road resident called 911 to report a break-in and burglary. No further information was available on the break-in or on what was stolen. At 5:05 p.m. a 911 caller reported hearing gunshots in the vicinity of Myrick Lane and Ann Lees Road. Officers checked the area and spoke to residents, but found no evidence that gunshots had been fired. At 6:37 p.m. a loose dog was reported on Depot Road.
Saturday, Aug. 30
At 6:56 p.m. a Cliffside Drive resident called 911 to report that a woman had wandered up to her house and seemed to be dizzy; the caller said she was concerned for the woman’s health. By the time officers and EMS personnel responded the woman had wandered off into the woods; she was found and transported back to her house. At 7:04 p.m., the first of three complaints from a Woodside Road resident came regarding loud music at a neighboring house. An officer asked the merry-makers to turn down the music. Two hours later, the same resident called saying the music was even louder than it was when they first called. The officer returned to the home and again asked that they turn down the music. At 10:02 p.m. the third complaint was called in, and the officer told the residents to turn the music off. All was quiet on the Woodside Road front after that. Meanwhile, at 9:11 p.m. a resident called to request assistance from the animal control officer in catching his dog, which was running loose on the golf course at Shaker Hills Country Club.
Sunday, Aug. 31
A loose dog was reported in a backyard on Westcott Road at 9:38 a.m. At 6:09 p.m. a 911 caller reported a crash with injury on Route 2 eastbound; state police had jurisdiction. At 7:52 p.m. a Prospect Hill Road resident reported hearing a male voice yelling in the area. An officer checked the vicinity and found nothing.
Monday, Sept. 1
At 2:02 a.m. a 911 caller reported a collision with injury on Route 2 eastbound; state police had jurisdiction. At 5 p.m., a motorist reported a driver on Interstate 495 that was failing to stay within the marked lanes. The motorist said the driver exited the highway at the Boxborough/Harvard exit and was traveling on Route 111 toward Boxborough; officers were unable to locate the vehicle. At 5:21 p.m. a caller reported an injured bird in the roadway on Littleton Road. The animal control officer was notified.
