The Ambulance Service responded to nine calls and transported six patients to the hospital, one with Advanced Life Support services on board. Ambulance crews provided one lift assist and responded to two motor vehicle collisions.
Wednesday, May 21
At 11:29 a.m. Engines 2 and 4 responded to a 911 call about a car fire on Route 2 eastbound. The crews put out the fire, and the car was towed away. At 7:41 p.m. a fire alarm went off at a Prospect Hill Road residence, but residents reported it was smoke from cooking and the call was canceled.
Thursday, May 22
At 10:06 a.m. Engine 2, the tower truck, and the tanker all responded to a fire alarm in a commercial building on Ayer Road, only to find the alarm was caused by a faulty detector in a bathroom.
Saturday, May 24
At 3:24 p.m. someone on Still River Depot Road reported an outdoor fire. The duty officer found an illegal fire from yard waste and construction debris. The owner was required to put out the fire, and the duty officer then explained the rules on open burning.
Sunday, May 25
At 11:44 p.m. Engine 2 was called to a collision at the Ayer Road off-ramp from Route 2, but no fire services were needed.
Monday, May 26
At 9:06 a.m. a neighbor reported an alarm going off at a home on Bolton Road. The duty officer found no trace of smoke or fire; the alarm was caused by two faulty detectors.
