In the past week, police made three motor vehicle stops, two resulting in verbal warnings and one in a written warning or citation. Officers also checked on three disabled motor vehicles, made a mental health evaluation, issued or renewed one firearm permit, and responded to seven false burglar alarms.
Tuesday, Feb. 11
At 7:31 p.m. someone called the police station seeking help in picking up their belongings from a house in Harvard. At 8:48 p.m. a caller said some snowmobiles had been trespassing on his property.

Thursday, Feb. 13
Between 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., a spate of burglar alarms went off in commercial buildings on Lancaster County Road, Ayer Road, and Mass. Ave., probably set off by the windy weather. At 8 p.m. a caller reported an icy spot on Littleton County Road, and the Department of Public Works was notified.
Friday, Feb. 14
At 4:28 p.m. a 911 caller reported a two-car collision on Littleton Road; no one was injured. At 9:26 p.m. Ayer police asked Harvard officers for assistance at a domestic dispute.
Saturday, Feb. 15
At 11:39 a.m. someone called to say a yellow Lab was wandering loose on Fairbank Street; the animal control officer was informed. At 4:38 p.m. the owner of a commercial building on Littleton County Road accidentally set off the burglar alarm in the building. At 7:10 p.m. a car slid off Mass. Ave. and needed a tow; no one was injured.
Sunday, Feb. 16
At 2:16 p.m. a car in the elementary school parking lot was ticketed for a parking violation, as it was obstructing the snowplows. At 4:28 p.m. a 911 caller reported a one-car crash on Bolton Road; one person was taken to the hospital, and the car was towed. At 4:29 p.m. a Park Lane resident reported that snow was blocking a storm drain there, and the DPW was informed.
Monday, Feb. 17
Beginning about 5 a.m., wind set off another batch of burglar alarms. At 10:56 a.m. a caller reported a tree or wires down on Stow Road, but police found nothing amiss there. At 4:16 p.m. someone on Babbitt Lane called with concerns about footprints in the snow that led from the street to her back porch; police checked and found no signs of a break-in.
