The Ambulance Service responded to nine calls and transported six people to the hospital, three with Advanced Life Support services on board. The ambulance responded to three motor vehicle crashes. No one needed a lift assist.
Tuesday, Dec. 3
At 9:23 p.m. a delivery driver called 911, saying he could smell smoke on Old Littleton Road. The duty officer checked the area and found the smoke was from a chimney, but it was being held close to the ground by the weather conditions.
Thursday, Dec. 5
At 5:02 p.m. police responded to a request for a well-being check at a residence on Ayer Road. When no one answered the door, they called on firefighters to make a forcible entry; the resident was found in need of medical attention and was taken by ambulance to a hospital.
Friday, Dec. 6
At 7:55 a.m. firefighters and an ambulance crew responded to a car crash on Route 2, but they were both canceled on the way by Littleton, with crews already on the scene.
Saturday, Dec. 7
At 12:01 p.m. firefighters and the ambulance crew again responded to a one-car crash on Route 2 eastbound; one person refused ambulance transport, and firefighters stayed on the scene to clean up spilled fluids. At 1:50 p.m. the duty officer answered a call from a resident on Bolton Road who reported a “funny smell” from the furnace. The duty officer found low levels of carbon monoxide, turned off the furnace, and vented the house; the homeowner was told to have the furnace serviced.
Monday, Dec. 9
At 12:27 p.m. a carbon monoxide detector went off at a West Bare Hill Road home, and the duty officer responded. The detector was faulty, and the homeowner was told it should be replaced. At 1:34 p.m. the Bolton Road resident who had called on Saturday asked the duty officer to check the furnace, which had since been serviced; there was no longer a carbon monoxide problem.
