The Ambulance Service responded to 14 calls and transported nine people to the hospital, five with Advanced Life Support services on board. The ambulance responded to three motor vehicle crashes. No one needed a lift assist.
Wednesday, Dec. 11:
At 7:08 a.m. firefighters were dispatched to the crash on Interstate 495 northbound but the call was canceled while they were en route. At 8:20 a.m. they were called out again, this time to the crash on Route 2 eastbound, but again the call was canceled en route.
Thursday, Dec. 12
At 8:37 p.m. a fire alarm went off at the Congregational Church; the cause was a sudden drop in town water pressure, which affected the alarm as if the church sprinkler system had been activated.
Friday, Dec. 13
At 9:21 p.m. Engines 2 and 4 were called to the crash on Interstate 495 northbound. The crew of Engine 2 used the Jaws of Life to extricate a person from the car, while Engine 4’s crew provided traffic control and scene safety
