The Ambulance Service responded to 16 calls and transported nine people to the hospital, four with Advanced Life Support services on board. The ambulance responded to three motor vehicle crashes and provided two lift assists.
Tuesday, Dec. 17
At 2:16 a.m. the duty officer responded to a smoke detector sounding at a house on Poor Farm Road; the problem was a low battery, which the duty officer helped the homeowner replace.
Friday, Dec. 20
At 9:50 a.m. a fire alarm went off at a Mass. Ave. building; the duty officer found the problem was again a low battery.
Thursday, Jan. 2
At 3:48 p.m. firefighters and the ambulance were both called to a crash on Bolton Road; the engine crew cleaned up fluids at the scene. At 11:50 p.m. the fire chief and duty officer responded to an alarm at an Abbot Lane home. They found wood that had been stored too close to a woodstove was now smoldering and filling the house with smoke. They took the wood outside and ventilated the house.
Friday, Jan. 3
At 12:43 p.m. a smoking hair dryer set off an alarm at a Still River Road residence.
